Recreation Supervisor
Job Summary:
Independently performs the duties of managing the department’s office, with specific areas of responsibility for the department such as community events, Summer Day Camp, Athletic scheduling and the coordination of the departments advertising and communication procedures; assists the Director of Parks and Recreation with a variety of administrative functions; performs other duties as required. Administrative direction is provided by the Director of Parks and Recreation. Supervisory responsibilities will include direct and indirect supervision of personnel as assigned by Director of Parks and Recreation.

Minimum requirements (please see job description for complete list of requirements):
  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in recreation services or management, or equivalent experience consisting of a minimum of three years experience in recreation program supervision and/or coordination or five years of increasingly responsible administrative and clerical experience in recreation programming or any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
  • Computer/Microsoft Word/Excel/ Power Point software experience
  • Knowledge of registration software such as Class, Active, Rec Trac or Rec Pro
  • Understand principles of budgeting ,expenditure control, techniques related to revenue generation and techniques for developing effective public presentations and the principles of public relations
  • Work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays as needed
  • Interpret, explain, and apply relevant laws, codes and regulations
  • Communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing
Starting Salary: $43,000 - $51,000 annually, DOQ and an excellent benefits package
